Amanda ColburnAmanda has studied family and sibling relationships since 1991. In addition to publishing her research in academic journals, she has been interviewed for national magazines such as the Ladies Home Journal, newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune and the London Times, radio shows such as This American Life, and was on the list for the NY Times top 100 ideas of the year.

Amanda has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, held an NIMH Postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA, and taught at the University of Missouri Columbia as an assistant professor.

She is now studying children's sibling relationships firsthand while raising her own children - Toby (3 years) and Joshua (4 months) with her husband in Solana Beach, California.
