Director, Southern Region Early Childhood Programs
Barbara Grace has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Relations and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. Her professional experiences include seven years as a preschool teacher, ten years as director of a Head Start program, and fifteen years in her current position as director/coordinator of the Southern Region Early Childhood Programs. Barbara's other professional activities include serving as a validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children; national Child Associate Credential advisor; national evaluation and training consultant for Head Start; Illinois Early Learning Standards focus group member and trainer; national faculty member of Rebus, Inc, and Rebus/Pearson (Work Sampling System); Illinois Early Learning Team member for the Education Commission of the States and Office of the Governor; member of the Governor's Task Force on Universal Access to Preschool; consultant with the Illinois Resource Center; Work Sampling Illinois trainer; and presenter at national, state, and local early childhood conferences.
